Since WordPress 4.7, users can now add custom CSS directly from WordPress Customizer. Now you can get a new way of editing CSS without plugins through the new feature of the Customizer. In WordPress 4.7, there’s a new section of the Customizer called Additional CSS. By using this way, you get an easy way of editing CSS theme’s stylesheet.
Why add custom CSS? You can add custom CSS lines to change the appearance of theme for your needs.
How to edit Custom CSS
Let’s go. Navigate to Appearance > Customize.
Scroll down to the section labeled Additional CSS:
Enter your custom CSS code for the target element and press Save button.
So, to make your custom CSS change with the new WordPress 4.7 feature, to do:
- Navigate to Appearance > Customize
- Scroll down to the Additional CSS
- Enter your custom CSS code
- Click the Save & Publish button on top of the screen
You can continue adding custom CSS code and don’t forget to press on the Save button when you are finished. There are a one of thing to keep in mind when use Additional CSS: Custom CSS that you add using this way is only work with present active theme.
